Questions that belong to this stage of your career
Royal Schiphol Group notices a growing demand within the organisation for a development programme for employees aged 45 and over. These employees have often fulfilled various roles and have a significant amount of experience in their field. Although they occasionally step outside their comfort zone, they can sometimes be struck by a feeling of “been there, done that”. Schiphol strongly believes that everyone has talent and wants to offer all colleagues within the organisation a suitable development opportunity. That is why Schiphol asked Ludens Talentontwikkeling to co-create a programme for employees in the 45+ target group who have been with the company for quite some time.
The aim of this programme is to inspire employees again and help them discover what is truly important to them, with renewed energy and inspiration. In a sense, the programme aims to bring out and explore a personal calling: what keeps your fire burning, and what might cause it to fade? Will this role continue to define your future, or might it be time to follow a different path to reach that higher purpose? What do you need to fulfil your current role at Schiphol with new energy, inspiration and inner calm, and how can you make optimal use of your talents and qualities?

Personal leadership for everyone
The programme is designed as a development journey aimed at personal and professional growth. It uses age-old rituals in which nature plays an important role. Outdoor cooking and a singing workshop create a strong foundation for mutual connection and bonding. Over eight days, spread across three modules, participants rediscover their own qualities as well as each other’s.
The first three days focus on motivations and values, as well as taking stock of one’s career. Participants explore what gives them energy in their work and which patterns no longer serve them.
The second three-day module focuses on calling and personal mission. Participants share their life stories and explore the effect their behaviour and choices have on both their professional and personal environment. These days are marked by silence, depth and spending regular time outdoors.
During the final two days, participants use the metaphor of “The Second Mountain” to shape their mission within Schiphol. They explore room for movement, make choices around vitality and build new connections.
The journey concludes with reflection and coaching. Participants in Destination You 45+ return to work with renewed energy and inspiration.
