Who I am and what drives me
My goal as a professional is to create more room for maneuver by increasing freedom of choice and providing insight into fixed patterns of behavior. I am very aware of how much more effective I am when I can act “free of restrictions.”
When fixed patterns are identified and understood and freedom of choice is increased, a person becomes aware of the link between a situation that has arisen and the emotions and patterns of behavior involved. I perform my work at an individual, group, and organizational level.
As a psychologist who is a member of the Dutch Association of Psychologists (NIP), I combine my curiosity about people in general and their behavior in particular with my knowledge of organizations and their dynamics. I’m often told that I provide clarity. And I do so with great drive and humor.
I started working as a psychologist trainer/consultant and coach in various areas relating to personal, organizational, and leadership development in 1991. I was previously a behavioral scientist at the Crime Control and Investigation Training Institute (ICR) and a consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers. I later worked as an occupational psychologist/coach at IBM and am now a senior consultant at Ludens.
I focus on the supervision and implementation of training and change programs at medium-sized and large organizations. I’m currently active in individual coaching, group supervision, change processes, and training in personal leadership for managers and talented individuals.
My professional and personal development are informed by traditional psychological theories, neuro-linguistic programming (NLP), transactional analysis (TA), and the systemic approach (including Phoenix Opleidingen).
